If you’re local to the Wichita area and considering purchasing a new grill or smoker I strongly suggest you stop by and talk to Denver Aikin, the owner/operator of Midwest Pellet King located at 2610 S Seneca St.
No matter what you’re level of expertise is when it comes to grilling and smoking, whether you’re a novice looking to learn or a self proclaimed backyard pro, you should give him the chance to explain how one of these babies will absolutely change your life for the better.
Denver is very passionate about pellet grills and says he believes in them so much that he has no intention of carrying other types of grills. “Once a person sees how easy it is to cook on one, how efficient they are and how good the food tastes, they won’t have the desire to cook on anything else”.
No matter what your needs are, Denver’s got you covered. Looking for something small to take tailgating or to the lake? The Green Mountain Davy Crockett grill is small enough to fit in the trunk of your car and includes three different types of power source connections: You can use your AC wall outlet, alligator clips to use with a battery or even the cigarette lighter plug in your car or truck. Looking for something a little larger? No problem. He’s got you covered. Are you in charge of cooking for this year’s family reunion?!! No worries. He’s still got you covered!
Talk about ease of use, the Green Mountain Grills even have a WiFi option where you can use your smart phone as a remote control to monitor the internal temperature of the meat you’re cooking, change the temp of the grill, set timers, notifications, etc. Anything you can do in an oven you can do in these grills; wood fired pizzas and cookies on the grill will also keep you from heating up your house by turning on the oven!
They also had another unit called the Louisiana Grill with a built in flame broiler for making wood fired steaks, chicken, and more. This one also has a meat probe you can program for a desired temperature for whatever you’re cooking. Set the meat probe for your desired internal temperature and once the temp is reached it will keep the food warm for you until you’re ready to pull it off.
His store is young and continually growing, and the prices are very competitive and inexpensive for what you get. In addition to his Green Mountain and Louisiana lines he will soon be taking on the Traeger line as well. Just one more reason to stop in and see what all the fuss is about!!
They have a wide variety of pellets, priced at just $12 per 20 lb. bag, but if you buy (3) he’ll knock a $1 off each and if you buy (5) or more he’ll knock $2 off each. That’s a savings of 20-33% compared to what you’d pay somewhere else and you know how we like to save money!
I will certainly be looking at bringing home one of these awesome machines in the future, but here’s a few pictures of the store and some of the great MADE IN KANSAS food items they have on their shelves. By purchasing all of your rubs, sauces, salsas, seasonings etc at Midwest Pellet King, you are supporting our local economy. That’s kinda my favorite part.
You can find more details via the Midwest Pellet King Facebook page or their website and make sure to stop by their location on South Seneca between 31st and Pawnee and be sure to let him know who sent you!
